Return to the Art of Care

Where clinical excellence meets unreasonable hospitality.

At Avoa Health, we have removed the barriers of the traditional medical system: no insurance mandates, no rushed appointments, and no volume quotas. We exist to restore order and peace of mind to families facing complex medical journeys.

To do this, we are building a team of Private Health Advisors: clinical experts who serve as the Healthcare Chief of Staff for their clients. This is a sanctuary for professionals who want to focus entirely on the client, delivering the level of care and attention they always wished they could provide.

Current Opportunities

Private Health Advisor (Patient Advocate / Care Manager)

The Short Version

You will carry six to eight families. Not sixty. Not two hundred.

Part-time and hourly, or full-time and salaried: W-2 either way, and yours to grow at your own pace.

We have removed insurance mandates and hospital bureaucracy from the work. What that buys you is the rarest thing in modern medicine: the time to do the job the way you already know it should be done.

If that is the job you have been looking for, here is the rest of it.

The Role

Avoa Health is a private health advisory firm serving families on Chicago’s North Shore through serious diagnoses, complex conditions, and the challenges of aging. The Private Health Advisor is the single, trusted point of contact for those families. Their advocate. Their Healthcare Chief of Staff. The person who sees the problem coming before they do.

This is not case management. Case management is a caseload. This is a small number of families, held closely, over time.

Our clients are accustomed to excellence in every other part of their lives, and they expect the same standard here. One size fits one: every family receives a response built for them alone.

What You Will Do

Run central command. You are the connective tissue between the family and their specialists, making sure every provider is aligned and the client’s agency is protected. You manage the scheduling, the records, the follow-up. Hushpitality is our word for doing that invisibly: the family experiences the result of your work without ever carrying the noise of it.

Vet the specialists. You evaluate physicians and institutions and find the right fit, not the nearest one.

Show up in the room. You accompany clients to the appointments that matter, with the agenda prepared in advance, and you deliver a post-visit summary that turns jargon into a clear path forward.

Dismantle the roadblocks. Pre-authorizations, denials, billing disputes. You absorb that friction so the family never feels it.

Build the scaffolding. For clients facing cognitive decline or a difficult transition, you put discreet systems in place that preserve dignity while keeping them safe.

Own the problem. Every issue is yours. When the system fails, you listen, you own it, and you fix it. You never say it is not your department.

Who This is For

You have five or more years in healthcare, ideally in advocacy, case management, oncology navigation, palliative care, or geriatric care. LPN, RN, or MSW is preferred and not mandatory.

You are warm. You are conscientious to the point that other people find it remarkable. You assume things will work out and you make them work out.

You can move from a technical conversation with a neurosurgeon to a briefing with a family office director without changing gear.

Your language is precise and generous. You know the difference between “I’ll try” and “I will see to it,” and so does the family listening.

You are comfortable with modern tools: secure video, shared calendars, the ordinary technology of a well-run firm. We provide the technology and the administrative backing so your attention stays on the families.

The Deal

  • Part-time roles are hourly. Full-time roles are salaried. Both are W-2, which makes you a formal member of the team, not a contractor.
  • It grows at your pace. Start part-time and grow into full-time as you and your client book are ready, or stay part-time for as long as it fits your life. Both are real, long-term seats.
  • Real control over your schedule, in both directions. If you cannot take Tuesday mornings, we will not book you Tuesday mornings. In return, we ask for dependable daytime availability, since most of the work, care coordination and physician visits, happens in business hours, plus a willingness to help with the occasional off-hours emergency, which the team shares and covers together. We ask every advisor to hold at least one full day a week for Avoa Health, because that predictability is what lets us balance the work and protect everyone’s schedule. What you will not have is a pager, a quota, or a productivity metric.
  • Hybrid, roughly seventy percent remote and thirty percent in person, flexing with what clients need. Our clients are concentrated on the North Shore, so plan on in-person meetings and physician visits in that area.
  • Travel is covered. You will drive to client appointments; mileage between them is reimbursed at the standard IRS rate, and a company card covers authorized work expenses.
  • You are supported, not on your own. Malpractice and liability coverage, secure technology, and full administrative backing, so your attention stays on the families rather than the overhead.
  • Full transparency before you invest an hour. Before any formal interview, we put every parameter of the role in writing for you: compensation, schedule, technology, and the health and screening requirements. You will know exactly what you are considering before you commit your time. We think that is the only respectful way to do this.

Why Avoa Health

A return to the art of care. You went into this work to help people, and somewhere along the way volume took the helping out of it. There is no volume here.

Autonomy with infrastructure. You manage your own client portfolio. You operate with the independence of a private practitioner and none of the isolation, supported by the firm’s systems and reputation.

Going above and beyond is the standard, and it is funded. When you see what a family needs, you will not have to ask permission or find the budget.

Depth. A handful of families, known well, over years. That is the entire proposition.

Introduce Yourself

We review every application personally. If your background aligns with our current client needs, we will reach out to schedule a conversation.
